Desa Visesa’a New Permaculture Concept

January 7, 2017 Life on the Island

Desa Visesa Ubud has announced the forthcoming new movement to promote the Balinese Permaculture concept together with Ms. Indonesia 2015 from Bali, Ms. Karina Prabasari and various communities. Visesa Bali permaculture is designed as an invitation to get back to the basics of life and honor the Balinese tradition with true meaning; back to Nature, learn of nature first hand. Eat the food cultivated from the earth upon which you stand, natural healing, share the joy of life with the community, connect and smile with local people, as a global-family.

The “Balinese Permaculture concept” is the development of the agriculture ecosystem according to the rules that aim at farming land for complete sustainability and self-sufficiency. Visesa has dedicated more than two hectares of land to the organically grown exclusively with natural compost. Species have been inter-planted for controlling pests while advanced waste recycling allows minimal use of inputs and energy. Besides universal permaculture methods, the Balinese traditional calendar that designates auspicious days for planting, ploughing, seeding and harvesting is strictly respected.

If you wish to join, the Permaculture activities are available every day from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
